Recipe of Indian snack Chivda


This is a Maharashtrian popular snack in India; will remain fresh for more than 20 – 30 days. In the market various types of Pohas available here we are using thin Poha in our recipe.

• Preparation Time: 30 Minutes.
• Serves:  4 persons.

Ingredients:
• 2 Cups of thin Poha
• 3 – 4 table spoon Oil
• 1 tea spoon Mustard Seeds
• 1 tea spoon Cumin Seeds
• 1 tea spoon Turmeric powder
• ½ tea spoon red Chilli powder
• 6 – 8 Curry Leaves
• ½ cup Peanuts
• ¼ cup raisins
• Salt to taste
• 2 table spoon grained Sugar
Recipe:
• Heat Oil in a Pan. Add Mustard Seeds let it pop out, add Cumin Seeds, Curry leaves, Turmeric Powder and sauté for a minute.
• Add peanuts and raisins stir till the peanuts and raisins becomes golden brown.
• Add Salt and Sugar
• Add the Poha, stir this mixture on medium heat for 10 – 15 minutes.
• Mix this well till Poha is coated with all spices.
• Cool this Chivda completely, store in an air tight container.
• At the time of serving we can put some sliced Onions, Coriander Leaves and Lemon Juice on this Chivda.
